Mrs N Connah (Pennaeth/Head)

Amser maith yn nôl gadawais yr ysgol i deithio’r byd.  Fe es i am Awstralia i gychwyn ac aros yna am bron i flwyddyn.  Roeddwn yn byw ac yn gweithio yn Sydney – bywyd hollol wahanol i Ogledd Cymru.  Haul braf bron bob dydd, traeth pob penwythnos, Nadolig yn yr haul! Profiad hollol wahanol yw bwyta cinio ‘Dolig a hithau yn chwilboeth tu allan a Siôn Corn yn dod i Sydney ar ei fwrdd syrffio yn hytrach na sled!  Profiad anhygoel oedd byw yn Awstralia a phrofiad wna i byth anghofio.  O Awstralia es am Seland Newydd.  Gwlad hollol wahanol i feddwl ei bod mor agos i Awstralia.  Mynyddoedd llosg, pyllau thermal a defaid ymhob man – dim mor anhebyg i Gymru. I orffen y daith fe es i America a gweld Los Angeles, San Diego a Mecsico, cyn ei throi am adref i fynd am Goleg Y Drindod.  Graddiais o’r coleg a bûm yn dysgu yn Ysgol Croes Atti am flynyddoedd maith cyn dod i Ysgol Terrig fel pennaeth nôl yn Ionawr 2012.  Rwyf wrth fy modd yma ac yn mwynhau dysgu plant Treuddyn a’r ardal.

Many years ago I ventured on a round the world trip.  First stop was Australia and I stayed for nearly a year.  I lived and worked in Sydney, life in a city was very different to North Wales.  The sun shone nearly every day, lazy weekends were spent on the beach and I experienced a very different Christmas in the sun.  Father Christmas arrived in Sydney on a surfboard, no sign of his sleigh!! A fantastic experience,  that I will never forget.  From here I travelled to New Zealand.  A very different country to Australia – volcanoes, thermal pools and plenty of sheep – not so different to Wales.  From here I went on to America my last stop and visited Los Angeles, San Diego and Mexico.  When I returned I enrolled at Trinity College, Carmarthen and after graduating came back to North Wales.  I taught at Ysgol Croes Atti for many years before taking up post at Ysgol Terrig in January 2012.  I thoroughly enjoy my job here at Ysgol Terrig and enjoy teaching the children of Treuddyn and the surrounding area.

Mae’r ddwy wedi bod yn llygaid ei lle a 30 mlunedd yn ddiweddarach – dwi dal yma!

After working in Ysgol Glanrafon for 2 years I moved to Ysgol Terrig.

I didn’t want to stay at first but there was Aunty Jen and Aunty Morfudd with a big hug and a cup of tea.  They said that Ysgol Terrig was one big happy family.

How right they were – 30 years later I’m still here!

I was born and raised in Northop Hall. As a child, I attended Ysgol Glanrafon and then Ysgol Maes Garmon. I left Sixth Form with three A levels in Drama, French and English Literature, then I went on to study Primary Education (QTS) at Bangor University. I was a part-time barmaid in Northop Hall Cricket and Hockey club for three years. After graduating, I was very lucky to be offered a place in a Welsh-medium primary to complete my NQT year. I love all things theatre and the arts and spending time with my friends and family (and my two cats!)

Rwyf wedi gweithio yn y gegin ers nifer o flynyddoedd. Yn ddiweddar iawn rydym ni fel staff y ge- gin yn cael ein cynnwys ym mywyd yr ysgol ac rwyf yn ddiolchgar iawn am hynny. Rwyf yn mwyn- hau yn fawr dod i’r ysgol i weithio.

Having worked in the school kitchen for a number of years, I have to say how much the kitchen is now involved in the school life and this is very much appreciated and how it is a pleasure to come to work.
